FAQs

  • How do I use LabGel® products?

LabGel® Banana is a hydration supplement for non-human primates. It is 90% water and can be used as an emergency water source, during transportation or as supplemental hydration. It is also thermoreversible and can be used for medication delivery. Thermoreversible gel mixing instructions can be found on our website here.
LabGel® Primate is a nutritionally fortified dietary supplement formulated with purified ingredients in a highly palatable firm gel designed for both Old World and New World primates. Both LabGel® products can be used as supplements or as treats for training and enrichment.

  1. I am always looking for new and exciting environmental enrichment for primates. I was given a sample of the banana Labgel and decided to use it as an environmental enrichment item for my baboons. I smear it inside of a paper bag and pour in some small foraging bits and shake. The bits stick to the gel and give a longer lasting, destructible and foraging opportunity, as they take their time to eat every single morsel. I highly recommend, not only for clinical care, but also as a novel item for enrichment.
