Intern – RD & QA

 

Position Overview: We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented QA/RD Intern to join our team. This internship offers an exciting opportunity to gain practical experience in both Quality Assurance (QA) and Research and Development (RD) processes within the animal life science industry. The ideal candidate is enthusiastic about learning, adaptable, and possesses strong problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities:

  1. Assist in Quality Assurance Activities:
    • Collaborate with QA/RD team to execute test plans, identify defects, and ensure product quality.
    • Conduct thorough testing of products, or processes to identify issues and ensure compliance with quality standards.
    • Support finished product testing (ph water activity viscosity sensory analysis), lab instrument calibration, line checks, setting up micro send outs and nutritional analysis.
    • Document and report errors, or issues encountered during testing.
    • Contribute to the improvement of QA processes and methodologies.
  2. Support Research and Development Initiatives:
    • Assist in conducting research and gathering data to support RD projects.
    • Supports pulling ingredients from inventory, helping to assemble bench prototypes from formula, maintain lab cleanliness & sample organization, shelf life analysis support
    • Collaborate with the team to prototype and test new concepts or technologies.
    • Assist in analyzing data and generating insights to inform decision-making.
    • Contribute to the documentation of research findings, experiments, and project updates.
  3. Cross-functional Collaboration:
    • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including department managers, and other stakeholders, to ensure alignment and successful project outcomes.
    • Communicate effectively with team members to share progress updates, discuss challenges, and seek assistance when needed.
    • Actively participate in team meetings, workshops, and training sessions to enhance knowledge and skills.

Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree program in Food Science, Life Science, Biology or life science related discipline, or graduated with 0-1 years of experience.
  • Strong interest in quality assurance, research, and development.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in written and verbal communication.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and thoroughness.
  • Familiarity with software testing tools and methodologies is a plus.
  • Prior internship or relevant work experience is preferred but not required.
