Sanitation Worker
Position Summary:
As a Sanitation Worker I, you will be trained on the proper techniques of cleaning production equipment, machines and work areas of our food manufacturing facility. You will be responsible for handling and preparing cleaning chemicals, sanitizers, chemical concentrations, and handling and storing the chemicals. ClearH2O is an FDA grade facility and provides consumable products for sale and distribution, the sanitation team is expected to report any potential contamination issues and any safety concerns that may arise as part of the sanitation process. As part of the core manufacturing team, you may be asked to help with other packaging and processing tasks as needed.
Essential Functions:
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform daily sanitation of all processing lines.
- Promotes a safe work environment through knowledge of the sanitation program and commitment to a safe workplace for all.
- Ensure product safety and product defense in the plant.
- Maintain and clean water lines.
- All windows, Ceilings, and overhead doors must be cleaned.
- Coordinates all daily sanitation activities within the plant.
- Follows all GMP and HACCP procedures that relate to cleanliness, product safety and pest control with the facility.
- Responsible for managing and reporting need for supply of cleaning chemicals necessary for the operation of the cleaning program and in compliance with OSHA and all plant regulations.
- Assists operations to maintain the highest rating possible on all audits and inspections.
- Supports SQF initiatives.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Entry level, does not require previous experience in a Sanitation role.
- Must have solid reading, writing and basic math skills, a good mechanical aptitude.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to think critically.
- Basic computer skills required.
- Self-directed with the ability to work independently as well as with groups.
- Ability to effectively plan, organize and prioritize work.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in units of measure, using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
- Ability to train, maintain and promote a safe work environment.
- Read and understand HACCP along with FDA and OSHA requirements as needed.
Physical Requirements / Work Conditions:
- Work is performed in a food processing plant with a high noise level, storage coolers/facilities.
- Position requires working around processing plant equipment.
- Must be physically capable of working extended hours if needed and in a wet environment, standing for long periods of time, and operating processing equipment.
- Ability to lift up to 80lbs.
